During her pregnancy, the previous owner of this poor creature took her to a remote forest area near Nafplion in Greece and abandoned her, leaving her chained up with no provisions or shelter. She was then forced to give birth on her own without any access to food or water.
Lara and her litter of puppies endured 10 long days in harsh conditions of cold weather and rainfall before they were finally rescued. It is truly disheartening to know that the folks residing in the neighboring town were aware of Lara’s plight, yet they turned a blind eye towards her and her little ones, offering no assistance in terms of food or water.
Upon first sighting Lara, the rescuers were struck with a deep sense of sorrow. Her physical condition was appalling; she was severely undernourished to the point where her ribcage was visible. Additionally, she was dehydrated, scared, and completely stunned. Regrettably, one of her puppies perished, but the remaining three have made a full recovery.
After being brought to the hospital, Lara and her litter of puppies were given the necessary treatment for their ailments. The good news is that all of them have recovered well and are now in great shape. Moreover, Lara’s medical tests turned out negative for any illnesses, and she has gained a lot of weight since then.
Currently, they are residing with Linda, their newly adopted foster parent, until they find permanent homes. Linda is a devoted animal lover who spends her time rescuing stray dogs and providing them with top-notch care.
Over the last five years, she has taken care of almost 300 dogs. Many of them were in critical condition when they arrived, but with her help, they recovered completely. It is evident that she will provide the same level of care and attention to Lara and her litter of puppies.
