“Shakira Makes Latin Pop History with Triple Top Spot Domination on Airplay Chart”

In an impressive display of skill and talent, she accomplished something truly exceptional that had never been seen before in the nearly 30 years that the list had been around – she scored a triple.

Shakira has just added another milestone to her career – she recently became the first artist to dominate all three spots on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay chart in a single week. This outstanding feat was achieved as of July 29, with her collaboration with Karol G entitled “TQG” remaining at No. 1 for ten consecutive weeks. Furthermore, Shakira’s own track “Acróstico” climbed up to No. 2, and her latest single “Copa Vacía” with Manuel Turizo reached its highest position yet, moving up from No. 4 to No. 3. What an impressive accomplishment for the Colombian superstar! Let’s all congratulate her on this well-deserved recognition.

Since 1994, the Latin Pop Airplay chart has been keeping track of weekly audience impressions from over 150 Latin formatted U.S. radio stations. The data is provided by Mediabase for Billboard charts. In the latest tracking week that ended on July 20, the audience impressions for “TQG” decreased by 7% to 8.6 million. Despite this, the song’s ten-week reign at No.1 makes it the second-longest running song of 2023 so far. Shakira’s “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” holds the record for the longest-running song, topping the chart for 12 weeks starting in February and still remaining at No.7.

The tracks “Acróstico” and “Copa Vacía” have gained popularity on radio charts, with “Acróstico” climbing to the second spot and “Copa Vacía” rising to third place. “Acróstico” has a 2% increase in audience impressions, hitting 5.7 million, while “Copa Vacía” enjoys a significant 33% boost up to 5.4 million, earning it the title of Greatest Gainer for the week.
It’s worth noting that Shakira, among 16 other artists, previously held the top two positions on Latin Pop Airplay at the same time. The full list includes Rauw Alejandro, Bad Bunny, Camilo, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, Juan Luis Guerra 440, Enrique Iglesias, J Balvin, Juanes, Karol G, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Don Omar, Ozuna, Pitbull, Shakira, and Tainy.
